CHRISTMAS 2008
DATES
Please remember that on Friday 12th December we will be holding Christmas Dinner in the school Hall and all children are invited to join us for the dinner. If your child usually has a packed lunch or goes home for lunch please see Mrs Evans in the school office to order a diner for your chil should you require them to stay. the cost is £1.80per child.
After dinner the whole school will be travelling by coach to Manchester Opera House to see their pantomime, which this year is Peter Pan. We will be returning school at approx 5.45pm. please allow staff to take your child into school and then you may collect them from their classroom. This is to ensure the safety of all our children and also Santa has promised to make a visit whilst we are out of school to deliver a pre Christmas surprise for each child!!!
This year's Carol Services will be held in Church on Thursday 18th December at 2pm and again at 7pm. We invite all parents/carers, grandparents, aunties and uncles etc to join us to celebrate the festive season and show your appreciation of all the hard work the staff and children have put in to the occasion.
Infant parties will be held in school on the afternoon of Wednesday 17th December - party clothes are of course an important part of the day! If your child is an infant please keep an eye open for notes relating to the parties, or see your child's class teacher (notes seem to disappear into the ether between the classroom and home on occasion!!). The Juniors will this year be having a disco in the school Hall from 3.30 - 5.30pm on Friday 19th December - the day we break up for Christmas. children can either go home to change or bring their glad rags with them, but make up will not be allowed to be adorned during the school day!!
Young Entrepreneurs Lunch with Ruth Badger
On Friday 28th November the children who worked so hard to win the Stockport Young Entrepreneurs competition earlier in the year were invited for Lunch in the Cloud 23 Bar at the new Hilton Hotl in Manchester, by Ruth Badger of The Apprentice fame. The children arrived at school dressed for the occasion and were ferried to and from the Hilton in style in a stretch limo. They were met at the Hilton by Miss Badger and Sarah Gover-Jones the organiser of the original event and given a guided tour of the Hotel by a member of the Hilton staff before retiring for a buffet luch in the impressive Cloud 23 Bar on the 23rd floor of the Hotel.
During the lunch Miss Badger shared stories of her entrepreneurial youth with the children and very generously presented each child with a personally signed cheque for the value of £20 each to open a savings account. Ruth Badger made the day an unforgetable experience for all the children and has hopefully started them on the road to a financially bright future. Our thanks go to her for the thought, time and energy she put into making the day one that the children will remember for ever.
Alan Sugar doesn't know what he missed!!!
