Reception Letter

Week Beginning 15th October 2018

Dear Parents

What a lovely week it has been. We have created a ‘thought shower’ around emotions linked to Mental Health Awareness Day. The children talked about what made them happy and sad and how we can help each other when we are sad.

Next Week we will be doing the following:

Literacy – We will be learning more facts about the season Autumn and listening to the story of The Hedgehogs Balloon. We will be talking about the characters and the setting and using book related terminology.

Letters and Sounds – We will be reinforcing the initial sounds s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d – we will be blending the sounds together to make simple words and practising the correct letter formation.

Mathematics – We will be focusing on making patterns with Autumn resources and carrying out some assessments so we can plan your child’s next steps in learning.

Understanding of the World – We will be learning some facts about Hedgehogs.
