St. Thomas’ Holiday Sports Club
During the Easter, Whit and Summer holidays we provided a free sports club with our Sports Coach Liam, Well-Being Lead Mrs Holt and Mrs Brokenbrow. The response we had was overwhelming, on two occasions 40 children requested a place.
Each day the children participated in a variety of different sports which they specified an interest in and well-being activities. This included football, orienteering, cricket, tennis, hockey, gymnastics, mini team games, communication games, quizzes, and several more!
We would like to say a big well done to Alysha our ‘Sports Person of the Week’ who won a French Boules set and our ‘Holiday Club Superstar’ Rylan who won a Frisbee and Soft Ball.
At the end of the week the children were asked to complete a short evaluation stating what they enjoyed and did not enjoy about the holiday club to help us make future clubs as enjoyable as possible.
All 20 children selected “I enjoyed it” or “I enjoyed it loads” with one child even adding their own comment of “I loved it so much!”
Other positive feedback when asked ‘what did you enjoy about it?’ included:
“Everyone got along”.
“I enjoyed everything”.
Negative feedback when asked ‘what did you not enjoy about it?” include:
“Getting up in the morning!”.
Overall we feel the clubs were a fantastic success and are looking forward to the next holiday sports club.
Please find below the dates for the upcoming St. Thomas’ holiday sports club for the Spring and Summer 2018 term. Letters will be handed out during the last week of term before the club and must be returned to Mrs Holt.
