Our Learning Environment
Within Nursery we ensure the children have a safe and happy place to learn, work and play. Children are guided on a nurturing journey enabling them to
become confident, inquisitive, imaginative, and empathetic learners. We make sure the children are provided with a good balance of child-led initiated
opportunities as well as adult-led opportunities which promote independence and encourages children to embrace challenges and to persevere. Our learning
opportunities are provided inside and outside the classroom and we provide all children with waterproofs so they can go outside whatever the weather!

Information for Parents
When your child starts your Nursery place at St Thomas, you will be invited in for an induction morning or afternoon. This is so you and your child can get a
feel of the learning environment and meet your class teacher as well as new friends! This will allow us to see how your child settles and we can plan our next
steps on your child starting their learning journey with us. It is important that when your child starts their nursery place you bring in the following for spare clothes:
Trousers / skirt

When your child starts, they will need to be provided with wellies so they can fully immerse themselves in our outside curriculum. It is very important to bring
your child into Nursery with a coat (whatever the weather) every single day.
We do encourage toilet independence in Nursery. If you are struggling with toilet training at home then here is a link with some useful tips to support you
at home:
