School Houses Eco Day

On 16th March we had our first full day in our school houses. At the beginning of the year we created six houses and allocated a house for each pupil and member of staff in school. The theme for our first house day was an ECO Day based on single use plastic inspired by our Eco Council who are implementing several ideas to help our school become more eco-friendly.

Children and parents were asked to bring any single use plastic they had from home into school so that it could be put to good use. Each house was given a resources bag with items to use alongside their single use plastic. They were then tasked to work as a team to design and make a product that was purposeful. They then had to evaluate their products quality and purpose before making any adjustments and presenting their final product to the rest of the school. Parents and carers were invited into school at 3pm to see all the wonderful creations.

Our Eco Friendly House creations:

Daley - Bug hotel

Malala - Custom plant pots

Rashford - Plant pots

Peake - Custom Garden Equipment
